David is a ceramicist and musician with a wide breadth of work to display. He needed a website to showcase his various ceramics and music projects. The front page design we chose allows users to scroll through a selection of David's works while listening to one of his songs, highlighting his versatility as an artist.
The muted colors of the site were chosen to emphasize the earthiness and texture of David's ceramics. The music was arranged in one continuous, scrollable gallery, as if perusing vinyl records. For the ceramics, I chose to remove the background of each photographed piece to give the page the feeling of a museum gallery. Often, type was offset to reflect the amorphous, organic nature of the showcased art.
